Poster: A snowHead

Hi I have currently made a stop over in Paris before trying to head to the french Alps to look for work for the season (thinking Val D'Isere but am flexible). I was reccommended this site to see if anyone else was heading down and if I could get a lift? I have a backpack and my board with me.
If no help on a lift would anyone know what would be the cheapest way to head the the alps. I'm not bothered by how i get there just needs to be cheap as possible!!
Thanks

annagolding, If you are heading to Val D'Isere you will need to catch the train to Bourg Saint Maurice and then catch a bus or hitch a lift from there to Val D'Isere. You can find out times and prices at www.sncf.com or nip into a local train station and ask.
They also have a number of services during the day, on some you may have to change at either Chambery or Lyon.
For the bus timetable and price visit www.altibus.com
The SNCF cheap tickets usually are snapped up pretty quickly so it may be more in the region of 70 to 80 euros if you want to go in the next few days.

You'll need to Register first of course.

This seems to suggest that there are places on the sleeper from Gare d'Austerlitz available this Saturday or Sunday for about 50€ or if you want a Couchette, about 60€. Next Saturday a couchette for 47€
