Wright I have got myself a job out in france and am going to be doing my first season this year, Been looking at ski's and am interested in these,http://www.ellis-brigham.com/skis/k2/700028/silencer-%2b-tyrolia-peak-12 Basicly im after a ski that will be good in every situation as im not sure what I will get up to!!! Ive done about 5 weeks skiing and I am intending to do a fair bit in the snowparks as this is what i have done on previous trips.

there good skis man! I've never been a fan of tyrolia bindings personally even tho they are ment to be one of the safest around. They have always been a bit too safe for me and i've seemed to of pre realised out of them but seems to be only me

Get a pair of 90mm ish (in the waist) twintips, reasonably stiff (inc tortionally). That will cover you for pretty much everything. Not the best for either park, pow or piste but the best compromise, assuming you'll be skiing all three.

the_doc is right, if you can afford it a quiver is a better solution than one compromise ski

I did a season last year on Scott Neos. They were pretty good. By the end i was skiing much more powder, so something fat would have been nice, but the Neos coped perfectly fine and were a laugh everywhere apart from landing switch.... So this year bought myself some Liberty Hazmats, fatter and a lot longer, so we will see how they will do... Are you working for a tour op? If you are you should get free hire, so u can rent some piste specific skis and rag around on them if the conditions get really shitty, or a fat ski, but you may have to do some serious charming with the ski shop owner....

what flangesax, said, last year board and bindings, 100 swiss (70 quid ish) year before piste skis (head supershapes) 80 swiss etc etc.

Also just thought about maintaining the ski's how much will it cost me (roughly) every week to get the ski's waxed etc?? also is it easy to do yourself?

Depends where you are and how nice you are to the techs. In St Anton I got full services (inc petexing bases etc) for ten euros. You really don't need to do it every week though.
