Poster: A snowHead

Hi all
We're off to Les Menuires in Feb.
SCGB has a presence in VT and Meribel. Mrs Eeyore will like to ski with the rep.
Which is is the easiest to get to from Reberty 2000 which is where we'll be?
And how?
And how long?
Thank you.

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Several options - but time will be the issue.
Cant remember what time SCGB meet - prob 9.15 to 9.30.
If you get the lift at 9.00 from Les Menuires it will be a struggle to get there by 9.30...... may be just possible but you will need to hurry.
Go via Bruyeres 1 and 2 to Mont de la Chambre then down to Mottaret and Trout to Meribel.
Or down to Roc des 3 Marches 1 and 2 up to the ridge and down to Meribel via Mottaret again, or take Eterle chair from Reberty and then link with next chair, Becca or Mont de la Chambre chairs to the ridge.
Thinking realistically - 30 mins a real push.
Call them and meet at the ridge at 10.00am on either side of the Meribel valley ..... will give you more time.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

From Reberty 2000 ski straight down "Boyes" (2min) to catch the 9.00 Bruyeres bubble which takes about 10 minuites to ascend, this should see a good skier into VT by 09.30. The meet point will influence your route down but Goitschel gets you into resort higher up....always easier to ski down than run uphill

Agreed VT is going to be the best option.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

The normal meet time is 9.30, but on the the Sunday usually 10am.
Except VT which meets at 9.30 on the Sunday, at "Place de Caron (by the skidoos)" according to the scgb site.
Meribel meet at 10 on the Sunday at "Chaudanne lift area (by the Saulire pylon)"
I think VT wins.

You'll need to Register first of course.

The other benefit of the Val Thorens rep is, being in the same valley, if the group stops for 'drinks' at the end of the day, it's relatively easy to get back after the lifts stop.
There is an infrequent bus service between Les Menuires and VT there's a rather flat piste down to Les Menuires from VT called Blvd Cumin. Even a cab will just be pricey rather than lifestyle-threatening (as it would be from Meribel)
The bus may also be useful in the AM as u can get up to VT before the lifts even open but as FtS says, it's quite doable by lift/piste before 9:30.

bus it rather than try to ski it just think if 1 or other lifts was out of action ....last few years when someone tried to join group who was staying in les manures' they had a nightmare time trying to get there, off the bus and to the meet place, also i seem to recall a great reluctance on the reps part to being forced into agreeing a meet somewhere "on a ridge, or indeed at "X" lift station"...... as for some reason they want to be able to plan a route that takes in best sun and snow rather than an individuals needs!
taxi may be best, not a great idea to arrive at the very last mo' and then delay group whilst being "read in" and signed on, especially irritating to everyone already there and itching to get on with it, not good fro group dynamics!
good luck with it anyway!
