You can ski properly in Greece though. They even hold FIS races there in Jan-Mar. Have even seen the lifts in the summer.

I skied on Mt Parnassus, about 2 hours from Athens, one new year and it was surprisingly good with decent snow & lifts. In fact my wife, originally from Athens, used to ski there every winter growing up.
