Poster: A snowHead

Our solid/reliable annual family trip to Kaprun is off for this year because Esprit unfortuntaley havent got Kaprun in the brochure this year (which has been excellent for a 4,5,6 year old).
Being a family of 3, we get relatively limited choice of resorts/chalets, so we need to look for other similar family TOs who have a similar model , preferably in Austria.
Suggestions greatfully received

sev112, Crystal have got Land Hotel Alpin in Scheffau with full Pepi and Whizz Kids Clubs. I believe Esprit used to have this hotel. Worth a look.

sev112, Ski Miquel has its Chalet Christina in Saalbach - haven't looked into whether it caters for kids in the same way as Esprit or at all, but I know it's popular with families. Also, if you don't mind arranging your own transport (which is easy) have a look at www.pensionenzian.com - not specifically a child specialist but very popular and nice people.

sev112, have a look at Neilson , we have been on many summer holidays with them and the kids clubs have been great. Loads of resorts in Austria in their winter brochure with 3 different childrens clubs.

I've booked that! (Not that it really makes a difference - but just thought i'd say). The ski school gets good reviews too.

We did 2 consecutive years with Esprit in St Anton. My Daughters were 4 and 7, both in ski school and both loved it.

Crystal have the Alpendruh in Kaprun, we were there last year, with kids was good. Just a few doors up the hill from Esprit's Sonnenheim.
Sadly, despite rumours to the contrary, Esprit haven't reinstated Kaprun for this summer either.

sev112, what do you need, rather than limit yourself to TO have you considered booking direct? Assuming kiddie is now 7, then I guess they will be in ski school/skiing with you all day, so do you 'just' need an early tea and a bit of fun with other kids in the evening, or are you after more than that?

kitenski,
Hi - i think we are just getting to the cusp of skiing with our daughter more days; but she really really likes having lessons with the kids she's spending evenings or snow club with; we quite like skiing with some of teh other parents , and then having 2 to 3 days skiing as a family
We've been really lucky with Esprit the last 3 years, finding a chalet and resort that works really well in terms of numbers of families with similar age children.
I tend to do my own arrangements for non-family trips, but the OH and daughter like the more communal days and evenings.
And to be honest we've had some cracking deals the past few years, so organising on our own has never worked out much cheaper if you are towing children along with you..
THanks for all teh ideas - will give them a look
