Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Aramada El Rey or K2 Extreme

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I am looking for a set of fun skis for all over the mountain so its the El Reys OR the K2 Extreme I have been looking at.Snowtrax suggested an Atomic Access but that looks like a boat in compaison to the other two.

I am 42 years old, 5ft 8" and 100kgs so a heavy strong skier- I am however looking for a poppy lively 'easy turn' ski that I can zip between the trees, play about on the edge of the piste and do short turns on when I want to. I already have a big bruiser for heavy days so really just a zippy little number wanted- I am looking at 169/171 to keep em fun- I have read the El Rey is actually quite stiff- I tried the K2 Extreme and liked them as they were fairly soft- anyone else skied both??

tried the Xtreme a couple of years ago in Banff....

great fun ski and going by the numbers of people skiing them out there, there can't be much wrong with it.

might be worth a search on epicski as i'm sure i've read a bit about them on there back at the time.

other option... volkl bridge? or even the original k2 kung fujas - though that may be too wide for what you're looking for.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Ta Shoogly, The Kung Fujas look a bit wide as I am looking for a slalom cut response speed- still I havent skied them to be honest

Don't you already have prophet 90's, zags and something else atomic and pistey??

I suggested the atomics because they are so easy to ski, I took some of the staff to the snowdome at hemmel recently and the ski even performed in there! if your looking to get in the trees etc they will be really good fun! they feel like a ski that is 80 underfoot not 100... check out the fall line tests they got a really good write up!

Also if your 100kgs i would stay off the short skis... you will over power them, they won't hold an edge, they won't float up in powder. get on the 180s + really!

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

^ Pretty sound advice to be fair.

I have skiied both skis in question and would be happy with both as a fun ski to do lots on.

At 100kg the K2's might be the better though IMO
