Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I am taking a group to La Grave in February. Originally we were all going by overnight trian to get 8 days for 7 nights, but now only two of us are, so a taxi from/to Grenoble is too expensive
The La Grave buses from Grenoble station are probably not at suitable times so I thought I'd take a Les Deux Alpes bus and get out at the Chambon Dam, then get the hotel to send a car.
My companion, however, thinks you cannot book the buses back ahead of time, except in person at LDA. This risks the bus being full when it gets to the dam - which happened to him once before.
Does anyone know if LDA bus seats can be booked?
It seems the winter bus timetable is not out yet - does anyone know when it will be?

Yes they can be booked ahead online. I booked ours last year and received two group tickets within a few days. There was a suggestion on the tickets that you have to go to the ticket office to confirm your homeward journey a certain time before you travel, so I went and queued up, only to be told I had no need to do so because tickets booked ahead were already confirmed seats. They were very helpful and quite happy for 3 of our party to get on at a stop earlier than me, even though I had the group ticket. Neither outbound nor return bus was anything like full. That was 20/27th March.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?
