Hi All,
I've been using Adidas Yodai's for the last few seasons (and they have served me well), but I have decided to get some new goggles for this season.
I've been fond of the Adidas ID2's for many months now. Reviews about them are scarce on the net (oddly), but from what I have read they are held in high regard. The swappable lenses are extremely appealing, and if I do get these goggles I will definitely be using more than one lens.
Alternatively, Smith have released their new I/Os model, and again the swappable lenses are a huge plus. There is more being said about the new generation of these goggles, and so far very positive. However, I am aware that previous incarnations of the I/O(s) have suffered from some design flaws. The 2010/11 model is supposed to have addressed these flaws.
Does anyone out there have any experience using either of the above mentioned goggles (or even the older generation of Smith I/O(s)?
For the ID2, I specifically would like to know how easy the swapping of the lenses are and how practical it is while on the slopes. But obviously I'm interested in how they actually perform as well!
For the I/O, I'm particular interested in the performance. On the older models some people reported seeing a "haze", or suffering fogging without a helmet etc. It's a longshot, but I'm hoping someone has the new I/Os and had a chance to use them.

I recently got last seasons's I/OS cheaply off the internet. AFAIK there is no change in the design for this season's model, only different colours. There were some problems with the first I/O version (08/09?) but that was quickly fixed in the following year's model.

I used the Smith I/O last season and LOVE it... best google I have ever owned but fit is always very personal. One caveat is that I also use a Smith Variant helmet and I do believe most googles should be matched with the appropriate helment (if they were engineered to work together).
I have never had any problems with my googles nor have I read any reviews or forum posts that report the problems you mention above. The I/0 comes with two lenses which in my opinion is enough and covers you for 95% of the conditions. In reality, changing lenses is a phaff no matter how easy it is to remove... do you really want to carry spare lenses with you in your pack or jacket? In the morning I look out the window, review the forecast and pick one of two lenses -either a low light or a bright light lense. If conditions change I can usual change midday when we take a break.

Ludwig, I was wondering when it's really cold outside I assume the plastic frame/lens will get quite stiff...is it still possible to change the lens outside or is it better to go inside and let the goggles warm up a bit?

I am curious b/c I do not know what to do with the 2nd lens...the storage box is huge and the curved shape of the lens is not pocket friendly either.

The lenses on the I/O are changed in seconds buy twisting a couple of little tabs instead of bending the actual frame. From my experience, really cold temperatures have no affect on the tabs. I usually keep my spare lens in either my hotel room/lodge/chalet and if we are doing ski-in/out we usually take a break mid-day for lunch and then I have a chance to change. If we are far from the resort, I usually keep the lens (and other things like shoes, dry clothes, car keys, extra cash/credit cards, etc...) in a locker at the main lift or lodge. If I'm carrying a backpack then I sometimes keep the lens in there using microfiber bag. But, in all honesty I rarely change the lens during the day.

Cheers for the response, guys. I have on occasion gone out on the slopes and the visibility so awful at low altitude, and superb at high altitude. But then I have had times when it is the other way around, or just awful full stop. It's for this reason I like the flexibility of having more than one lens.
One thing I have read often is just how good the sensor lens is in bad visibility. In fact, some people have said it performs even better than a yellow lens (which is one of the lenses I would like if I bought an ID2). Is this the case?

I just picked up a new pair of I/0's on whim for a color change. Therefore, my one year old ones are for sale if you're interested.
They look like this:
 and come with both lenses. They are in very good condition.
