Never been to a Ski show so thinking of going here this year
Are they good places to pick up deals on ski jackets/boots? or am I better off just shopping local as normal
Is there any better ski holidays deals to get?

skiingemu1, welcome to ... Birmingham show is probably the better of the shows in terms of deals to be had, but it depends on what you are looking for.... personally i wouldn't recomend buying boots at a ski show as you cannot have the time spent with you that you may require, but for skis, clothing and holidays you may pick up a good deal
there are usually some deals on tickets if you go to the show organisers site and buy in advance www.globalsnowshows.co.uk

Went last year - picked up the odd bargain ie a new helmet and some new goggles - EB seemed to be spending a fair amount of time with each customer requiring boot fiting and the prices seemed good but can't talk of personal experience. Clothing was very expensive and wasn't much there really but depends what you're looking for i guess

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

CEM, you are sir, as always, correct in your information.
If anyone wants any kit delivering to the show I'll be there Fri pm so can either meet you then or you can leave any orders on the snowHeads stand for collection Sat or Sun.

CEM & others, what's the general saving to be had at ski shows i.e. average 10%? I want a new helmet (plus whatever catches my magpie eye whilst there), so wondering if it's worth waiting until the show before diving in. Also, is it worth waiting to book a Xmas trip at the show, or just get on with it on-line?
ps, it'll be the Olympia show, not Birmingham.

Dr John, really depends, sometimes there are some great deals on last years kit and sometimes there is just new season kit at full price .... in the past S&R and EB tend to sell new season kit and have a small rack of left overs at great prices but i guess that depends on how last season went for them..... the smallerindependants vary form selling all new kit to clearing trash from the past X number of years

The ski manufacturers takes stands to talk through their new stuff, and we'll be near them and CEM, justifying our Ski of the Year choices as the unsuccessful manufacturers glower on. The Gear Guide will be launched at London and a mere week old at Brum, featuring booty know-how provided by a certain person already mentioned in this post.
