Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I am looking for self catering Chalet/Apt for 5 or 6 near Geneva? Anyone?

Hi all,

I have had a few people drop out of my ski holiday at the last minute and now need to find new accomodation.

I am looking for a self catering chalet/apartment for 5 people, within about 1 hour of Geneva airport. Any ideas? January 15th is my prefeerred date.

Thanks.

sunnek, if you just extend you time a bit - to 1.5 hours - you are absolutely spoilt for choice, with a great swathe of resorts within reach - Chamonix, Flaine, Samoens (and the rest of the Grand Massif), Megeve, Combloux,Les Contamines, La Clusaz, the Espace Diamant (Praz sur Arly, Les Saisies etc). So it all depends what sort of thing you are looking for, and your budget. There's small, cramped and cheap or large, super luxurious and super expensive. And everything in between. If you give us an idea of the kind of skiing you want, the kind of "night life" and the standard of accommodation, suggestions will come pouring in. Will you be driving yourself from the airport?

Thanks Pam. I am happy to extend it to 1.5 hours. We will probably get a private transfer.

Skiing, Intermediate would be great. Mainly reds, but maybe an easy black!
Apres ski - lively would be great. We are a bunch of 30 year olds.
Accomodation - well 3 star quality. Nothing to basic (definitely not cramped), but not too luxurious either.....although I would love a hot tub Smile

All help appreciated.

Portes Du Soleil???

Yes, but where in the PdS. I don't know it all that well. But Les Gets is probably too family-oriented and the skiing not challenging enough. Maybe Morzine, which is much more lively, but Chamonix probably better. For Chamonix a hired car would be a big advantage - save time bussing between the different areas.

From the skiing point of view Flaine would be good but it's not noted for its lively night life.

If you want to be challenged by both the skiing and the nightlife, on the French side it's surely Chamonix. With only a tiny stretch of your time-window you could also be in Verbier.
