The Spring 04 Clubtalk arrived this morning... a plug for www.skiandboard.co.uk (appealing to those who love snow sports more than is healthy), for the main website's new "inspirational" design (but don't worry, it "remains the highly recommended website that 650,000 unique visitors will have no trouble adapting to"), and a brief item on MO day ("after taking legal advice, the Club was concerned...").
Other than that, an "alternative list of things we do that you might not have realised" about the Club; a plug for Club insurance, holidays and the travel service; the results of a few surveys ("are you currently a female looking for love? Head to the mountains"; and a few others bits and pieces.
It's sponsored by Land Rover apparently - so I don't know how much the thing ends up costing (staff time + design and print + p&p). But I'm pretty underwhelmed...
Did it make anyone's morning getting this thing through the door?

This was the first Clubtalk I've seen and likewise found it less than impressive. There just didn't seem to be anything of substance in it !

Ironically, one item of interest was the poll result - made possible only because of the pre MO day situation of an open forum. Can't see too many more polls now, in light of the complete lack of interest there now!
Unless the SCGB would like to commission snowHeads for any future surveys

Not sure which way to vote, as it was indeed as dull as ditchwater, which was exactly as good as I'd expect.  Mine was in the bin within two minutes of opening.

Fully agree with you lot - it was fabulously uninformative. It seems to me that all you get from being a member of SCGB is bombarded with sales pitches. I just feel that its moved from a situation of the club offering the membership good deals and discounts - to the club trying to make money off its membership by constantly pushing things at us most of which are not particularly desirable ot good value.
