In these lovely sunny conditions in Paradiski which is best for sliding through the slush?
Tried teflon today with good results what do others think on this...

Boredsurfing, wax with a surfactant in it.

My totally non scientific test determined that Teflon was better in wet slush

Boredsurfing, assume you're using Zardoz? It makes the most difference in wet conditions and quite a bit then. It's still best if there's a coat of wax under it though.

Even better putting Zardoz under your wax and then again on top

Shall I buy some of this Zardoz stuff to take to the EoSB? Does one just spread it on randomly? (My skis will have been newly serviced, I'm collecting them tomorrow.)

Even I have a tub of Zardoz. In my less than scientific test I can say that in slushy conditions I could tell that I had applied the Zardoz, but that it didn't seem to last very long. However, I suspect it would last just long enough to give you an edge in the EoSB race on a slushy day.

Megamum, that's not a worry, I have absolutely no intention of taking part in said race.

Hurtle, Just spotted above. The Zardoz pocket puck is a little bottle of Zardoz liquid tucked in one half of the pack and the front of the pack is a layer of absorbant material on a flat base. You squirt about a third of the bottle onto the pad and literally just rub it over the base of the skis. It goes on really easy You can see where you been as it shines like rubbing something with a damp cloth.

Megamum, sounds simple enough, even for a muppet like me.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Hurtle, we are cross posting and, it would seem, second guessing each other. Having done one, I would really encourage you to consider participating in the race. I've spoken to folks who have decided not to and who then really regret not doing so. I did it, and I could barely ski at the time!!

Hurtle, it's good stuff for after skiing as a rust preventative.
Plain ol' soap will do well in real slush, certainly for one race.

You know it makes sense.

Megamum, whatever turns you on. a) I'm uncompetitive (except at Scrabble) and b) I've never done gates and am not about to do so for the first time under the eyes of a million sHeads, since c) I'm not keen on going out of my way to make a complete prat of myself.

Hurtle, Well, I hope you have a good time at the bash, whatever you decide to do on race day.
comprex, that's the second time I've seem you advocate soap on the bases for slush. The first time I wondered if you were serious, now I am sure you are. Do you literally mean rub a bar of soap up and down the bases, or do you mean the application of a liquid soap in a similar way to Zardoz.
