Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

We met up with marc gledhill near Les Carroz and took a few runs round the area. We had a great day, it's a bit warm but the snow's holding up pretty well. The north facing slopes are best at the moment, it looks to me that the base is pretty good for the time of year.

ise, It was very good meeting up with Mrs ise, and yourself, both Jo and I had a great day out - hope we didn't slow you down too much.

There is a lot of snow about, but it starts out very hard for the first few hours, then turns to slush by midday. But around 2000m on North facing slopes it can be very flattering. Returning back to resort level reminds you how warm it is at the moment (20*C plus) with associated slush puddles in the sun and ice patches in the shade.

marc gledhill, slow ? No, I thought you'd got Julie to ski quicker than I could. In fact, she seemed to enjoy skiing with the two of you more than me really.

Some more photos from yesterday.

It's pretty soft snow after midday as you'd expect from the temperatures but the base is still pretty good and the skiing's not bad at all.
