Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Wow! Kid in a candy store. Anyone skied both or got an opinion on relative strengths/weaknesses of these two?

I've looked at that thread. I know that the 5* suits me very well indeed and am sure the 6*would be too stiff!

I've heard good things about the iXRC800, but is it more of a skiercross or StreetRacer type ski? How would it do in moguls?

I've already got B2s for off-piste days.

Getting an opinion at snowHead not normally a problem, but obviously no-one here has skied both.

In case anyone else is interested in view of S&R sale...

slikedges,

Haven't tried this ski ( Head 800 ) but skied Rossi 9s' and the Elan SX which are great fun on the piste. I thought the Rossi a bit more forgiving and the Elan a race ski. I think the Head 1100 is not so much an out and out race ski so in this sense comparable with the Rossi, and the Head IRC 800 is supposed to be a detuned version of its bigger brother. I would go for the 1100 as the edge hold should be a joy and that is what piste skiing should be all about.

Hi there I haven't skied the XRC 800 but I do have the 1100 and a friend has the 5*. When we swopped skies for one run I found that 5* was not as grippy on the hard snow and at speed not quite as stable, the tips wobbled a bit (but that could be my bad technique). They were excellent for short turn though and are great fun, but I have to say I preferred my XRC 1100.
