Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Going Bananas

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
This week has been full of snow and with bluebird conditions forecast today we celebrated last night.

Today while the kids were in Superbowl the real action was in the Mt Fort Right Chimney

Horizon is 2nd down.

Followed by me.

Horizon tried to take off

and succeeded

followed by Bobinch

Rumours of deepness in Banane were abound. So we had to check it out

Turned out to be true

Mind it was deeper still in the S

and steep too

Aaaah, back at the desk today, can't really believe this is where I was yesterday.

Guys, thank you for showing me around. Great to ski / ride with you. Sorry for bailing out on that exposed Bananes access path - memories of my rock tumble in Arlberg were too vivid and messed with my head. Next time I'l bring crampons and ice axe to feel safer.

horizon, no worries, it was understandable. For future reference that part was as steep as it got and although once over the crest there was a sketchy step round a rock it turned out you could go over it which was easier and less exposed. The most exposed part of the approach is the traverse but at that point you have your skis on and you'd be fine. If we're in the area again I'd happily give you a rope over the first bit as you'd love the ski down.

When you've got a load of bananas the next step is to peel them.

horizon, Sorry I missed you at the weekend.
Skiing with friends and family in slightly mellower terrain although bounderies were pushed which allowed me to ski the powder and them to ski new terrain.
You and bobinch need to visit regularly you seem to be good for snow conditions. wink
