Finally a bluebird day to enjoy the recent major dumpage!
First stop Mt Fort North Face...
Sketchy access
This is the prize...
Yes please...
Gentianes in the background
Swirly navigating the rock band...
Lovely light pow in superbowl
Nprth Face from Superbowl
Keep up Swirly...
Vive la poudreuse
Tsunami!
No, just a poor snowboarder...
Pretending to be Skidog/Rich
Next stop Bec des Rosses. Plan was to traverse into the top of the dogleg avoidng the gnarly top section...
Ooooh crampons and ice axes. Aren't we the mountaineers!
The routes
Snow on the dogleg looked a bit ropey. Decided to save ourselves an extra 30 mins of sketchy climbing and drop down from the shoulder in what looked like perfect powder.
Slufftastic
Swiss Philippe letting loose
Into the top couloir above Barry's
Powowow
The Bec - nice mountain. We pussied out in the bowl on the left hand side. Plenty of mountain left to explore!
Thanks Haggis_Trap!

Video from the Bec des Rosses shoulder, apparently it's quite rocky in places. Too bad you can't see any of the cliff bands from above:

More outstanding work, chaps.
How are the touring plans coming along? Anybody around week after next, could be some spring delights? I'll have a car this time.

Another fine day's skiing. Viz a bit hazy so nothing too gnarly. Had a look at Poubelle but didn't look great. So did a Superbowl and then headed up Mt Gele for a change.
Opened up the Gazex couloir with a young local Swiss guy we met in the cable car....
If there's some snow tonight we'll go back for some of the other couloirs tomorrow.
And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

There's 30cm+ forecast for Val d'Anniviers tonight, so I assume you'll get the same.
So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

brian, badly, couldn't get into one of the huts which was essential, although looking at the GFS it's going to snow most of that time.
Will be about though could do a day here and a day there if you're interested?
You know it makes sense.

Very solid work boys. Bec and North face in one day <ding>
Glad to see the info being put to good use.
Though little embarrassed to see my interweb nom in the title
Sadly I was 1000+ miles away. That snow looks like fun!
April often seems to be the best month of the winter in the alps ?
