Well the first pictures have started to come in. This is on the bottom section of Campagnol off Mont Vallon in Meribel.
I think visibilty was the cause...we weren't speeding officer.... we just didn't spot the jump, it was an optical illusion

jonm, There is a better video to follow, This was late on in the process. lots of stiff bodies still and one snapped finger tendon that is being operated on tommorrow.

rob@rar, There were 12 of us skiing and we had 7 down, 2 had skied off at that stage as we were invisible from above. I will post the video soon, but it really is quite funny. It was a bit of an optical illusion and we were really flying dowm the piste as we thought we needed to keep speed up for a flat section. What we failed to spot was this ruddy great hill

skid & slide, having seen both boarders in the group perform their boarding skills, I very much doubt it.

pam w, I don't remember it from when I skied that run last week, but in the photo it looks like a big bolster across the width of the piste, before it flattens out. Jolly glad I didn't fly off it!

i was there week before last and i know the bit you're talking about. it's not a mad jump it's just kind of a big dipper - i hit it on my board and was definitely surprised at the distance travelled in the air. wish i'd seen the epic crash, from the photo it looks like it was carnage.

I had a moment there myself last week, but being generally wussy, I wasn't coming in that fast. There's lots of lateral bumps and most of them are fairly harmless - it's the last one in a sequence of several, and you get into a sense of them all being the same - the last one is just big and has a steeper drop off than the others

I'm confused at the picture. Which direction is the piste headed? Bottom to top or top to bottom?

Frosty the Snowman, This is where Anarchicsaltire skied infront of me, just as we went over it. It's obviously an accident hotspot, I think we landed near where the photo was taken after rolling for a while.
You would get quite a bit of speed off it if you decided to straight line it .

Frosty the Snowman, Know that jump very well. My kids (15, 19 & 25) get very big air off it all the time!! Never crashed though! OOPS!
