K2 Backup or Wayback for all-mountain touring?

Anyone tried out the 2012 K2 Backup or Wayback for touring?

I 'm looking for a go-anywhere touring ski that can handle all conditions downhill, including tracked crud. I bought Dynastar Alitrail Powder this year and put on Dynafit bindings. Ok going uphill of course at 2.7 kg the pair, and they cruise down nicely enough through untouched light powder, but the front ends just flap around uselessly in challenging stuff downhill. Crashed twice on a simple fast schuss 'cos the edges caught the snow sidewalls. Can't ankle-steer them. So I need something with more edge stiffness and control.

Backup weighs 2.90 kg the pair, Wayback is 2.95 kg, not much in it but Wayback looks gutsier and is wider at 88mm underfoot.. I like the look of the Backup, nice and slim for touring, but wd appreciate some feedback on its skiing performance. If not convinced, I would probably head for the Wayback.

Not skied either but have considered both. From the many ski tests in German that I have read, and info from friends - the Wayback is better in Powder, the Backup is a better all-rounder (better in harder conditions). The Völkl Inuk is more expensive but has the best of both worlds, it's also lighter too.
