there is a bus, frequent and reliable, but I seem to remember it was a couple of euros each way. Well worth the trip, large sking area and 1 day free with the obergurgl 6 day pass. If you can afford obergurgl surely a limo is no problem!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

BillyJohnn, when I was there back in the 08/09 season there was a free bus between Obergurgl - Solden.
We had to change buses at the edge of Solden in order to get to the main Gondola - but it all seemed pretty simple/reliable.

I was there in Jan and did the journey in the other direction, return.... the bus was free, and it went direct from the main gondola in Solden to the centre of Obergurgl

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

TVM, no limo I'm afraid; You're quite right the Hotel is relatively expensive but the last time I was there I spent less in a week than I ever have elsewhere so it kind of evens up a bit.

Best to get the free bus, ski in the day, hire a locker and get a cab back after an evening out in Soelden, as you won't get a night out in Obergurgl! Cabs about 25 euros if you speak german, 30 if you insist on the queens.

Staying in Obergurgl, a days skiing in Solden on your week long pass costs an additional 10 euros . Oz bus is then free and fairly frequent, stops at gondolas and in town.
Liked the quietness of Obergurgl, Solden pistes were much busier as was the town itself. March 2010.
