Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I thought it might be beneficial to make use of a personal trainer for a while. I have 2 x 1 hour sessions a week. It is a real eye opener to be doing sets of exercise properly - i.e. even squats. I told him that I wanted to be more flexible, stronger etc. After each session I certainly feel I've worked a range of muscles that I haven't worked before.

, Probably it is worthy if you lucky with getting someone committed. In my local gym I think they cost 50-60£ per h and from what I've seen sometimes they can do nothing but boxing exercises for the whole hour.
Just seems too expensive.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I've found them to be very beneficial but it does depend on who you get - 2 years ago I had a trainer who was also a ski instructor. Now how ideal is that?!
I have so little motivation about going to the gym I do need either a personal trainer or appropriate classes

I booked 3x60min sessions before skiing this year for the princely sum of £45 at my gym in a well known hotel chain. In practice each session lasted for 90-120 minutes and the instructor was brilliant: intelligent, massively well read and very perceptive. Besides the immediate benefit of a decent programme and exercises that I didn't know existed, my mind was broadened and I now have a much better understanding of how my body responds to diet and exercise. It's fair to say that the effect on my skiing was dramatic.
Before paying hard cash, it's worth chatting with your proposed instructor to see how well they know their stuff. And, if you're in the Cardiff area, PM me and I'll give you my trainer's contact details.
