Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

3 valleys late March?

A friend of a friend has a space in a chalet in late March this year in Courcheval.
I'm wondering how risky late March will be regarding snow.
I went to Les Arcs in mid March last year and conditions were great, so am I right in considering it not a great risk?

Not a great risk, we were there 2nd week of April, it was fine, heavy by lunchtime yes but fine, go for it.

tomstickland, often the best time of year. Good snow base and long sunny days to enjoy it.

I was in Val Thorens in late March/early April 2009 and it was fine - by 4:30pm some of the busier runs were a bit heavy but apart from that it was great. Amazing sunshine all week.

I love skiing in March, it's often the best snow, with longer days and is warmer too. Nothing better than an outdoors apres ski pint!!! Skiied May Bank Holiday last year in Tignes - brilliant snow, bit slushy lower down (understatement actually!) But fine higher up.

I've had a week of angst. I'd decided that the March trip wasn't going to happen. But I had an email from one of the party this week asking if I was still interested. I then spent 4 days flip-flopping between the fun of skiing versus the satistfaction of being £1K better off.

Someone at work said to me "get on with it". Then I thought "the snow might be rubbish next year", so I'm now at 98% yes. Just got to sort some travel details and I think it'll be a yes, go, go, go.

tomstickland, stop fannying around and go ski. 3V in March will be fine, there are a load of us going there nearly a month later on the eosb .You'll probably come back gloating as to how good the snow conditions were.

People are far too picky when it comes to skiing..3*/4*...should i ski in March...etc

no, no, NO, you have it all wrong, all skiing finishes after half term, don't go, it's too late, all the snow melts, all you get is lovely warm days, the chance of fresh snow and hardly anyone around, rubbish really, no idea why I keep skiing at Easter Wink
