I'd be even more impressed if they weren't all so in the back seat.

PJSki, who gives a fcuk if they are in the back seat????? They are out in the mountains having fun and not vegetating at home in front of the telly with a cup of cocoa and a pair of fluffy slippers

I give a feck. By simply lifting their hands up and pushing them further forward they would be more controlled and efficient. Nothing half a day with an instructor couldn't sort out.

Well it is wrong and that's all there is to it. So what if they're in their seventies, they can still improve.

Quite an inspiration really. Not so sure I'd be keen being driven around by a guy wearing ski boots, though.

Fattes13, skied with Mick from Kiltiernan before christmas, he must be older than those featured! Mrs. RH was impressed! Not an easy thing to do is impress Mrs RH on the slope!

Gee it must be hard being as perfect as you, mind you, if you care enough to give a feck about how some random pensioners the other side of the world ski, then you must be a truly caring indivdual

I don't see why you're getting all upset. All I did was say they are too much in the back seat and that they would be much better off if they moved forward. Hardly a crime to comment on someone's skiing in a youtube video, even if they are in they seventies.

If I'm still on a mountain with my mates, skiing powder in my 70s I'll be very happy indeed. Feck the style, good on them.

I just fail to see why you can´t just appreciate why some people have to do everything perfectly for it to be acceptable, they are out having a great time , why the snidey comment?

I'm surprised no-one's also seen fit to criticise them for skiing what are technically backcountry lines* without conspicuous shovel & probe etc.
, let alone riding unsecured in the back of a pick up.
(I also assume that they know the terrain and avy traps of the backside at WH20 very well indeed and therefore are skiing within acceptable safety margins). Total stars and not atypical in the BC interior, some very good "OAP coffee clubs" laying tracks out there.

Fattes13, Thanks so much for that link. As feel-good moments go, that gave me a great one. And geepee, thanks for that neat joke. Wish I had thought of it first.
By the way, a member of the Scottish Ski Club gave up skiing a little while ago - in his 90th year.

Handbags at Dawn girls! Is life really this serious for some of you people? It was just simply fun....technique and health safety obsessives chill out...off piste is officially dangerous but that's part of the point

As someone who wishes they had taken up skiing earlier in life that really is great to see, . Maybe their technique isn't textbook but they look to be getting down just fine and having fun, which I think for most of us is the point!

There really are some conceited ladies' front bottoms on this forum. They are just some wrinklies having fun and enjoying the powder. They are an inspiartion to us all, just enjoy PJSki. I skied with a guide this year who had his feet bolted together, not my idea of style but he was 20 times the skier I ever will be and he represented France in two Olympics. Old school/New school/cookery school/School of hard knocks - who gives a poo-poo. skiing is about enjoyment on a personal level, it's for the young and old and everyone in between.

There's a company which used to be called "Over the Hill" but is now called something else I think, which specialises in holidays for the older skier. I met some people on one of their trips, in early February. One guy was over 80 - he was "taking it easy" following an accident when he fell off a step ladder last summer, trimming some creepers or something, at his house in France. He looked very fit, tanned, enjoying it all very much. Gives you hope.....
One of my friends, on the other hand, sent me a sad email yesterday about an ex-colleague she'd visited in hospital, after a severe stroke. She was 69.
So we need to get out there and enjoy when we can. Never know what's round the corner. I do admire somebody skiing after knee replacements - that takes some guts.

I took a strange delight when my granddaughter asked her mum what these things were in the hall and I heard her mum answer, "These are Grampa's skis."
A bit daft perhaps, but it made me feel good.

Rage, rage against the dying of the light
