When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Has anyone tried Dynafit Mansalu skis?
I'm looking for a lightweight backcountry setup without the bulk or weight of Marker or Fritshi bindings.
I won't be doing anything too strenuous or demanding like massive drops etc. but they need to be reliable enough for tours of up to 4 days.

I declined a chance to test them today, sorry... I skied the Stokes instead which are much wider.

I don't really understand the question, no doubt the skis will be very reliable in all kinds of conditions. I've seen some people ski pretty hard on them.

The higher the score the better the performance. 95mm waist is too skinny for powder according to the yanks. snowHead

Fat Al, sorry, I'm slow to update my location. I'm in BC.

My friend ended up skiing one run on the Manaslu, I don't think he really enjoyed it as a downhill ski but he did start looking for some very high peaks to climb.
