Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi
I'd classify myself as an advancing beginner, and am starting to carve turns. I would like to get my own skis as I hope to get 2-3 weeks skiing per year. I'm 5'9" and weigh 92kg. I'd see myself being on pistes only at least for the next 2-3 years, which is the period I'd like to have the skis last me for. I have a pair of my own boots and am happy with them.
The usual question: what ski length and what skis?
I'm debating on 165cm or should I go 170cm? My last rentals were 160cm and were definitely too short for me.
I've looked at a few skis, and would appreciate advice from forum members. Yes I know ideally I'd want to try them first but it's not feasible and it's way cheaper online - I'd take the risk for 'cheap-ish' skis.....

I can source these skis for around the same price, although some are a bit more expensive. Can someone please guide me in the right direction, taking into account my ability level and physique (or lack of......)
cheers
