Anyone know where you can buy a decent pair of skiing trousers...in purple?
And yes they do need to be available in men's sizes.
It seems to me that no one sells anything other than black and grey at the moment, and I fancy something different for 'special occassions'.
Prefferably a south-east England stockist, but happy to buy by mail order, so anyone will do at a push.
Any ideas?

Yep, buy good quality black.
Goes with anything (colour wise) and won't date. Had my last pair for donkeys.

I have (somewhere, unless the OL's thrown them out) a pair of very purple trousers bought from Blacks several (12?) years ago (cheap, presumably because no-one else would buy them).
I no longer wear them because they're too warm (and not because they no longer fit around the waist, that is a libellous suggestion).

marc gledhill, The whole point is I already have perfectly good black ones, I want some purple ones.
D G Orf, I had a nasty feeling you might say that.
richmond, If you no longer want them, they are trousers in a 32-34" waist and 31-33" Leg, you can be bothered to dig them out, and you live anywhere near your username I'd be delighted to purchase them from you. I can PM you if you let me know.

A couple of years ago TNF did purple (and black) shell trousers. They also did red or yellow or various other gaudy colours, all with black bits.

arcticfox, I've got a Columbia pair that match my Very fetcing white and purple COuloir jacket, but they are only teenage age 14 (ladies too long in the leg), need to diet to get in them though. Or a fetching lavender blue pair, ladies size 12/14

arcticfox,
I have a pr of Berghaus Extreme over trousers, full zips, Gtx and condura. VGC.
The are purple with green panels, they look much better than they sound. Also have the matching jacket.
I don't tend to take them out with me anymore but they performed sterling service.

arcticfox, I'll check it out. They probably are about that size, given that they, ahem, shrank a little. I live in my username (in Surrey, not Yorkshire).

arcticfox, For an inexpensive trial, Army Ski surplus, white camoflage trousers, UK or NATO may be an option - just choose the shade of purple and dye them. Go on tell us what these 'Special Occasions' are????

arcticfox, I have an old pair that I never wear anymore, if you're interested. They are a number of years old, but in virtually new condition. They are Phoenix with Gore-Tex, size 34 to 36 waist, complete with matching detachable braces. They are certainly purple. If you're possibly interested send me a PM. I can get them photographed and subsequently e-mail you with pictures to let you have a look. As they're Gore Tex, I'd take £50 plus postage. BTW I'm six foot two ins. tall, so they should fit fine.

Oh I remember those phoenix trousers from brochures, very purple. Phoenix used to be a very good maker so Peters offer seems most generous

Just to extend the question then...
I want some bright trousers for additional on piste visibility. Less chance of sleepy GF skiing past, Clearly a bright blue jacket and black pants doesn't show up on the snow...
Recent much loved trouser confections included lime green SOS pants and deep yellow Peak Performance. Either colour would do but require Goretex or similar performance. Anyone seen anything like?
Current options include Mammut on orange and blue...

David Murdoch, do you honestly imagine that your GF would acknowledge you dressed as you suggest? I'd stick with the black and blue and just hope that she learns to recognise you.

David Murdoch, You should have seen the jacket I had to accompany the trousers now owned by arcticfox, Yes, that was a combination of yellow, green and purple I am glad has not been revisited since Saas Fee 1992. Unfortunately, the elastic on the waist band is no longer functional. Otherwise, you would definitely would have wanted it - and Gore Tex too!!!!!

You could buy ventile trousers and dye them. In fact West Winds do say they do custom made stuff so might do some in their brighter coloured ventile.

richmond, Peter B,
Folks, I assure you that the demise of my yellow troos has been much grieved over. And, honest, it worked very well. Trousers of one colour only and jacket of cobalt blue with a little black on high wear areas. Very very cool indeed and definitely cooler than the totally ubiquitous black that the UK shops (yes, there are better and more varied choices elsewhere).
I'll try and scan a piccy for you...
