Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

A snowHead
Off in a couple of weeks to Meribel with Ski Olympic to the Chalet Charlotte.
I would like to know if it's anywhere near a free lift for a quick ski on the Sunday afternoon I arrive on. I know it's somewhere near the Morel lift but beyond that not sure of exact location or how close to the lift pass office. I'm also interested in whether it's better to go up Morel and ski down to the Chaudanne or get the bus down.
Anybody any clues?
Thanks in advance.

I stayed in Chalet Charlotte in 2004. The chalet is right on the main road that leads up to the Altiport, and close to a bus stop (I think about 30m up the hill from the bus stop). There is no free lift nearby, I can't remember using the Morel lift, but the chale is about a 100m walk to the piste and then a fairly quick ski down a blue/green (?) to La Chaudanne where the lift pass office is.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

, thanks for that, now found there's a free lift at Alitport.
So options now bus for free lift or down to Chaudanne for an afternoon's pass. Great

Hi Steve. Just in case you're still reading this thread. I've stayed near the Charlotte and used the free bus (stop just round the corner) or the Doron piste to get down to Chaudanne. Morel lift is a bit of a walk so never used it. The walk to the piste is level and not too far - might be even quicker than waiting for the bus! Just walk down to the hairpin bend near your chalet, and follow the small side road that leads away from the bend. Very easy to spot. Then it's a level 10min walk.
By the way, the bus also goes up to the Altiport piste. So you can ski back from there.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.
