My two favourites heading out of the gate at the start. I'm sure they'd have preferred 6 and 7 though.

That's a brutal gate that has caught all three racers out.
Isn't Chemmy's time in this race a bit closer to Mancuso's time than it was in the DH and Combined?
rob@rar, tbh I expected her to be competitive for a medal in this.
Dwarf Vader, I thought yesterday's Combined was her best choice of a solid top 10. I guess another place in the top 15 beckons today, and maybe similar in the GS.

snowHeads are a friendly bunch.

they all seem to be skiing so far quite passive, I think the Downhill is still too fresh in their minds. Could be a good one for Fischbacher or Pärson, they dont fear anything!!
And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Chemmy 20th in Super-G
Team GB’s Chemmy Alcott finished 20th in today’s (Saturday) Super-G at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games.
The Super-G discipline was her third event of her third Games – and she has two further events ahead of her, the giant slalom on Wednesday (24 February) and the slalom on Friday (26 February).
Alcott, from London, said she enjoyed the race on what was a challenging Whistler Creekside course, despite an error near the top of the hill.
“The hill is so tough,” she said. “It’s a really fast course and it was a really tough race, but I enjoyed it. I wouldn’t want an easy hill. It’s a really good course, they’ve used the terrain really well.
“It was definitely challenging and I love a challenge. I didn’t really go for it enough.
“I made a judgement error and lost a ridiculous amount of speed,” she added. “ You can’t make any mistakes here. This is the Olympic Winter Games and everyone is lifting their game.
“It’s ski racing and it’s so exciting,” she added. “It’s great to be part of this Olympic Winter Games. We’re really enjoying skiing, challenging ourselves and lifting ourselves up to another level.”
Alcott's time of 1:23.46 was 3.32 seconds behind that of Austria's Andrea Fischbacher, who won gold. |
This for me sums up the fact she is a good competitor

because I remember a few years ago she was using every excuse in the book to blame for the lack of success. Good girl
