Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

January 2011 - is it possible to get accommodation for a week starting on 1st Jan?

We are thinking of travelling on the direct Eurostar to the alps which is apparently running on Saturday 1st Jan (has not been moved to Sunday).

I cannot find any companies offering self catering accommodation for one week starting on 1st Jan 2011. Resorts we are thinking of are Sainte Foy or Les Arcs. However would consider any of the resorts that can be accessed from Moutiers or Bourg St Maurice.

We are looking for 4 star self catering with pool.

If all the accommodation is starting on Sunday how is anyone going to be able to use the eurostar service?

snowymum, my apartment in Arc 1800 will probably be available for a rental starting on 1 January. At the moment it doesn't have a pool, but will have one in time for December 2010 (a new building in our development is currently be built which includes our pool). More details by following the link in my signature.

snowymum, most of the tour operators have switched their arrival days to Sunday over Xmas and New Year, I don't suppose many people will want to travel on those days, they will want to be in resort. I suspect that the Eurostar service may alter it's day too, to accommodate Xmas being on a Saturday. It may therefore run on Sunday or even Friday.

Helen - They told me today it would be running on 1st jan but as you say it might change. I wonder how ski school is going to work first week of jan if the accommodation is all starting on different days?

snowymum, most of the ski schools in Serre Chevalier offer lessons starting on either Saturday or Monday. I assume tour ops wil lhvae made arrangements with their chosen ski schools. If Eurostar is still running on 1st Jan, is it also running on 25th Dec?
