Poster: A snowHead
|
I've mentioned several times how impressed I am by the Stöckli skis, I just got a mail saying there was a test in Grindelwald on 19&20th March if anyone's there and interested. No sign or charges, just turn and try some, you leave your own skis as a deposit.

It's a very good ski indeed, it's not as good off-piste as my Zags but it's a slightly better all-round ski, it's stiffer than the mass-market all-mountain skis so handles better for me.

DB, I'll grab a pair next time at a Stöckli test, I've not bothered before as I'm not sure it's my sort of thing, it's a composite core ski though and just hefting them around at a test I thought it had a lot of flex. More of a park ski I thought, ie kids.
The StormRider DP looks interesting though.

The only people I have seen who can ride those things are very strong skiers (strong physically and strong technique).

DB, I skied with an instructor who had a pair of Snakes. They had freaky flex patterns. He used them mainly in the softer stuff

Fox,
How did they perform on piste? Do they have chatter problems? Am I right in thinking the shovels were soft but the rest of the ski was much stiffer?

Some tests at Pitztal on 22.04.-24.04.2005 if you can get over that far.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

DB, they were OK on piste, but I wouldn't use them as a race ski! Shovels & tails are soft. the centre is stiff.

Thanks Ise,
Would love to try Pitztal and the Stöckli's but I'm touring the Silvrettas that week.
