Poster: A snowHead

Morning all,
I have my old skis up for sale on ebay, I assume there is no issue with a trained ski technichan redrilling bindings and plugging the old holes? Someone asked what size boots the binding will take, my answer is any size if you get them fitted properly.
cheers,
greg

No real issue at all, so long as they fill the old holes in. The buyer will be fine.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

If the bindings can be adjusted to fit, then the buyer isn't going to have to pay a shop the £20 or so it will cost them to get the bindings remounted. So the skis are more attractive to the buyer if they don't have to have it done.
So whilst 'any size' is technically the correct answer, a more useful answer is to say that they are currently set up for bindings with a XXmm solelength (about a size Y).

I did actually answer that way Rob, and normally bindings can adjust up or down one size without redrilling.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Ah good! I know from my own ski sales on ebay that binding adjustment is a very common question.

RobW, I would never do that with used bindings. I want to have them adjusted to spec and then tested using a binding testing device. If one doesn't own one of those, one should definitely take them to a shop to make sure that the binding still function according to spec. I have pairs of bindings that looked just fine, but were out-of-spec. I'm glad I didn't ski on them!
