Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Solomon Impact - Shell movement?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi folks,

I'm new to all this owning gear thing and went to a local boot fitter and got boots for my wife and myself. We're both happy with the boots and the fitter seemed to know his stuff. He advised us to wear them a little before going skiing to get used to them.

I've noticed that my boots - Solomon Impact - have movement in the upper section. When they're not on my feet, I'm able to move the upper shell forwards and backwards a a bit.

Is this normal/OK? I always thought the boots should be stiff and prevent ankle movement of this type, but maybe I'm showing showing my lack of knowledge!

It's a local shop, so if need be I can take them back to get checked.

Thanks,

Paul.

 Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person
Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person
depends waht you mean by a bit, there may be a few mm play in the cuff to the clog..... is this with the boot clips up or unclipped..... should be less with it clipped up as this will wrap the bits together..... doesnt sound like a problem from the description but if you are concerned then you should get them to look at it

if it were solid then you would ski like a concete statue wink

Hi CEM,
Thanks for the advice. It's with the boots clipped up. I checked with botht he clips and strap undone and then with it all tied up. The movement is a lot less (practically none at all) when the clips are tied.

Thanks for the response. I can sleep now I know there isn't something wrong.

Thanks,

Paul.
