Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Glue for re-mounting bindings

Hi,

I'll be fitting a set of Salomon (S810) bindings, to a pair of skis which have had the same binding screw arrangement previously, and are a direct replacement.
The shop practices manual advises the use of glue to seal the screw holes.
Years ago I would just have used a "standard" woodglue, but is there anything magical about "Salomon 000811 glue", or would any wood glue, evostik or mastic do, as I understand it's to seal, rather than retain the screws? (Skis are atomic beta-ride)

I'm with altis, you need a 2 pack epoxy glue and preferably a few strands of wire wool in the holes to give the screws something to bite into. PVA is fine for the first use of a hole but you need something a bit extra for re-using IMO.

Douglas C, although using epoxy will NOT melt the core of your foam Beta Rides, just use a waterproof wood glue.
