Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Another 1 in the north east (middlesbrough) for membership here ... 42, advanced intermediate/still think I'm 18/throw myself off anything and adventurous as hell sort of level! (well, that's on the first day anyway... then, as I'm totally knackered and come to terms with the fact that I'm not 18 any more, the rest of the holiday is spent cruising the mountain searching for watering holes and eateries rolling eyes ) Can I come and play too please.

Have ended up going alone for far too many years now as I've always been a billy no (skiing) mates.. Taking my 17 year old son to Cham this year but he isn't coming accross as very adventurous or interested so might be back to billy no mates again next season! Would be nice to be part of a gang of similar age snow addicted hooligans for a change snowHead

That's the week my son and I will be in Cham.... Going with Ski Weekend as we're getting 10 days on the snow! so the coach journey is a worthwhile sacrifice for the price... I'm sure they still have places and the single supplements are quite reasonable (especially as you then get a room to yourself!)

We leave Victoria Coach station 5.30pm Thurs 19th and get back 9.30am mon 2nd March. Staying in the La Vert hotel which by all accounts seems to be a rather cool place.... I'm sorta hoping my son will 'pull' rolling eyes during the week and leave me to have a few quiet drinks and enjoy some fine French cuisine on an evening..... otherwise I can see him dragging me kicking and screaming to night clubs (gawd...... not since I was 20 something!!! and I couldn't dance then!)

I don't do Facebook, it seems a bit scary to me...

However I am a 40-year-old ski enthusiast. Not in a position to join any groups as my ski holiday is all set for this season, but I will watch developments with interest for future reference...

Hi Hurtle

we were all members of goneboarding and decided to form the club for 40+ club
Initially our club was intended for snowboarders
But as a lot of the groups families ski and would have probably kicked up a stink, lol.
No way could we exclude ski`ers, and to many good skiers who board.
All of us were finding it hard to get people to board with around the same age group,

Ski/board divide issue
Usually its the young who go on about it,we dont care if you ski or board.
Its about mid age people who want to meet, make friends to ski/board together and like most people our age, chilled!

Me too - Facebook doesn't appeal and I'm reluctant to join just for this Sad I don't understand why there's the need to set up a separate 'club' on Facebook - seems a shame that such a group can't be managed on here - afterall that's where all the members are from Puzzled

Hi QB

Facebook is not that bad once you get used to it.

Keep your eye on the facebook page, the info will more than likely be there.
Hope you do join Smile

snowtheway2go, although I've often been pressurised by friends, I'm really reluctant to join Facebook. It looks a bit dating site-ish or too much like Friends Reunited (had to delete myself from there because I got spammed with emails from the college creep!)...\

Any chance you can post regular updates on here for those of us who aren't on facebook...?

snowtheway2go, I'm not keen on facebook either, for various reasons, including those already alluded to. But no worries, I don't altogether fit your criteria of

mid age people who want to meet, make friends to ski/board together and like most people our age, chilled!
More particularly, I'm beyond describing myself as 'over 40.' wink
Good luck with the venture, though, looks as though you've got lots of takers.

so can i just ask - what if you are 39? are you excluded until you "come of age"?? wink I love going on holiday with my friends who are a variety of ages, mainly 35-45. Seems a shame to exclude a large chunk of sociable single/solo people because they are one or two years younger than you?

just a thought!

snowtheway2go, er, I like to meet and ski with people of all ages, I'm not desperate to make new friends (find it hard enough to keep up with the ones I've already got, particularly since they're spread all over the world) and 'chilled' isn't the first word I'd use to describe myself. And, ahem, 'mid age' could be pushing it. In all other respects, I'm probably tailor-made for your group! wink
