Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

hmmm...good skiing near calais does not compute Shocked the nearest resort may be one of the Ardennes places like http://www.montdesbrumes.be/en/ (which currently has no snow!) You might as well bite the bullet and accept it's worth a 10 hour drive from Calais to go somewhere decent - with 4 drivers in the car its no problem to drive all night then ski the next day. Doing this most of the top resorts are possible.

Plake is right. You could just possibly strike lucky with some of the resorts further north in France (e.g. the Jura) but they're still not near Calais. Might as well drive to the Alps. On the other hand Scotland will probably be fantastic in March, given the snow now, and is a little nearer Newbury.

If your driving to the Alpes then you may as well choose the resort you want to go to as there really isn't much in it!!! You can fly ryan air or easyjet very cheap into grenoble, lyon or geneva may be worth considering!!

hammy1846at4, the closest alpine resort to Calais is Chatel about 506 miles I believe, whilst the PdS can have good skiing in March, there are higher, more snow sure resorts not too much further away.

This is about right! It's a long way, there really isn't anything closer than the alps. If you were looking at Massif Central, somewhere like Super Besse, then that's still probably 7-8hrs and really not in the same league as the alps.
