Poster: A snowHead
|
Just been chatting to a work friend who is going to Courchevel 1650 for ski hols and was sharing my fave off piste ratruns when I noticed that the little 2 man chair lift that brings you back over from 1850 has disappeared from the piste map on the Courchevel website. Very disappointed as we used to pop behind the hut at the top and have fun skiing through the trees to the bottom of the lift plus it was the quickest way back for dirty beers:-)
Anyone been to Courchevel this year???? Has it really gone V sad!

Parkyparcours, The old Pramereul and Roc Mugnier lifts have been replaced by a new high speed 6 pack following the lines of the Old Roc Mugnier.

yup, see here http://www.latania.co.uk/photos/2009Summer/WhatsNew/index.htm
New Lifts
A brand new high speed 6-pack chair is going in to improve access from the Courchevel 1850 area to the skiing above 1650. This will replace the old slow Roc Mugnier and Praméruel chair lifts (see pics below) plus the Combe drag lift may be replaced eventually if they extend a new chair from this area up to the Signal area (but see update above). Trips to La Boulette (aka Katie's) in 1650 for lunch and après ski sessions will now be a lot quicker!

No, it is really old. It runs from further up the road towards 1850 just before one leaves 1650, quite well hidden.

The new lift is a lot better/faster than the old ones. The old 2 seat ones were cosy but they had to be as you got so cold by the time they got to the top of RocMugnier.

Beware those old leg-crashers! One of the good skiers in our gang last week got whacked by one of those on the last day, ski tips got caught in the snow, he catapaulted over and ended up snapping the ligament in his thumb. Youch! The liftie was sat in his cabin reading his newspaper.....
