For anyone interested on what happens snowsports-wise on the other side of the pond I have found a site - www.telemarktalk.com/phpBB/ which is also a phpBB system and has 5123 members.

As a few of us have also mentioned here, EpicSki is another excellent site comprising mostly US members. However, there are a few that are here, as well. But, it is a UBB site!

I only go there occasionally to read Ott Gangl, which I'm pretty certain is a real name. He's also posted some fabulous photos on Epic.
I think Ott Gangl (who was also involved on the long-expired Compuserve ski forum, in the prehistoric days of ski internet) should be given an invitation to join us on Snowheads. He has amazing stories of love and life in the Arlberg et..

Oh Dear. You guys have a lot to answere for. Just went over to Epic to have a nose, and am stuck. Physically incapable of pulling myself away and back to doing any work at all.

I occasionally wander over to septic to lob a brick into the midden, if only to disturb the perennial ‘look how much vertical I’ve done today/week/month/season’, that and the permanent whingeing about other people. Epic, so many threads so little difference between them! It’s also Fuxup’s favourite lurking spot.

Thank you, folks, for the invite, here I am. Yes David, Ott Gangl is my real name and it goes back to Compuserve where we were required to use our real name, the one on our credit card which we used to pay our monthly fee. Now with the internet there are no fees but using our own names stuck.
Fox has the honor to have the highest number of posts on Epic and it is always a delight to read them.
Masque, the technical discussions on Epic can get quite convoluted but many ask for the minutia, but so it goes.

markP, no sweat. As you can tell, I'm on of those curious analytics that likes to tear everything apart so that I can understand it. I love Epic for that. Also, it was great to actually be welcomed there, as I was here. I've been on the Internet so long, that I was afraid that friendliness and kindness had disappeared from the medium. I'm glad to be proven wrong!
