The Solent Coastguard helicopter was sent to rescue a snowboarder from a golf course in Waterlooville (Hampshire) yesterday. The man had a broken leg, and icy conditions made it impossible for an ambulance to reach him by road....Source: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/hampshire/8450510.stm

Funnily enough, last time I was stupid enough to believe I might enjoy a round of golf, I kept wishing somebody would come and rescue me.

I've heard of a snowboarder being airlifted off the Dublin Mountains (hills really) after breaking a leg but Waterlooville Golf Course is really something. Did he have Dogtag?

Were there any ropes or warning notices? What was the local council H&S expert's advice?

I'm wondering whether he was using a kite... I wouldn't have thought that a golf course has enough hills, and there are a lot of kitesurfers in that area....
