Poster: A snowHead

Hi
If anyone has Britonlift tow handles, or wonder what the aluminium things with 'Britonhook' written on them lying in the garage are, and would be willing to part with them for (insert desire here) we'd be so very grateful!!

I suspect they could be covered in rocking horse fertilizer if someone has some

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I've seen a couple, but they are generally prized by the owners, who ride merrily up rope tows while the rest of us are left slipping at the bottom wearing our gloves out.
I seem to recall the a conversation about them at Allenheads, possibly, along the lines that you could order a batch from the manufacturer and they'd blow the dust off the moulds and make some. Might have been Harwood common though.
I think I've seen one at my local dry slope. I could enquire.
Don't bother Googling, the silly software thinks you mean Brighton and gives detsils of a ski resort in Utah.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

A friend of mine runs a company that does cad/cam and small batch runs of products in a range of metals - so if the original manufacturers can't help I'm sure they'd be happy to quote.

Just get some exterior grade marine ply about 7" by 2.5" and cut a notch across its edge, slightly wider and deeper than the rope. Make sure the edges of the slot are not too sharp or you will cut the rope.
We used to then attach the clips to a seatbelt (with fast release buckle) worn around the waist, this takes all the load off the arms. Alternatively you could attach it to a short rope with a poma button but the belt is easier to wear when skiing. If you carn't get a fast release buckle (modern cars don't use them) then/and use a section of cord with a low breaking strain to avoid getting pulled through the engine !
Importantly don't try to clip in from standstill. Grasp the rope first and clip in once your moving to remove all your inertia. You'll need to do the reverse at the top. Have fun !
