Can anyone recommend a gaff in Bourg walking distance from funicular that is flexible on dates and value for money. Food/bar would be a bonus.

Have used Relais de la Vanoise for clients. Family run, Monsieur (Yannick) is into ski touring, 10 mins walk from funicular (?). Good value and were very flexible & helpful.

DaveB, check out chillchalet for rooms, just google bourg accomadation. Also you could ask at the tourist office web site for links. They have a list.
The petit st bernerd Hotel might be ok but not sure on the price. Self catering apartments are also possible in low season. You really need to search online and you will get quite a few.

could try Bex and Robin up at hotel la petite auberge too, its a reasonable walk to the funiculaire (probably less than from the campsite) but i think the navette stops at the bottom of the road so that may help.
