Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Having had a wonderfully snowy Christmas and New Year trip to Tignes this year we are now considering next year's trip more of us this time too. I know some haven't even been on this years trip yet so how efficient does this make me look
My brain is beginning to flag with looking around and most sites haven't got prices up for next year but we would like to try and get something sorted out
so what do folks think for next year
back to Tignes or try somewhere else? we quite fancy Austria
If somewhere else, where would you recommend?
We have done hotels and catered chalet enjoyed both, we also cannot spend a huge amount of money and are happy to drive there
Needs to be child friendly wherever we go and needs to be snow sure (as far as it can be) with some easy skiing for less experienced skiers
Obviously

Ever thought of the French High Pyrenees? - i.e. not Andorra but the bit the French go to and don't like to advertise... I am horribily biased, but it has good snow (lifts go higher than any in the Portes du soliel for example and annually they get more snow than the Alps due to a more maritime Climate), very freindly, cheap, a very nice chalet I happen to know uhhumm... Have a search for ski chalet in Bareges in the Hautes Pyrenees for the biggest resort or PM me...
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I'm already booked for a group of 18. We go the week before Christmas so have to look at snowsure resorts and usually return to a resort for a second year if we've had a good time. So far we have been 2 x Val D'Isere, 2 x Courchevel 1850 and this year we changed from a chalet hotel to a chalet and went to Arc2000 and we'll be going back in December. We have been incredibly lucky with the snow every year. Arc2000 suited us as keen skiers who get out early and back when the lifts close - I don't think I'd go with small children for Christmas as it a bit out on it's own and a traditional Austrian or French town/village would be IMO more appealing. I check different TO's every year but find myself back with Total Ski who have worked well for us. They offer very good early booking discounts and I find their prices hard to beat. Have you checked Esprit Holidays which Total's sister company who specialise in family holidays?

Somebody I know goes regularly for Christmas with Snowtrex. They offer self-catering apartments in smaller French resorts - prices include lift passes and are very competitive.
