Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hello wise snowHeads. Can anyone recommend any bars, chalets, shops, pistes or itineraries in Les Gets? I confess, it's for a Les Gets themed newsletter for Mad Dog Ski (www.maddogski.com)
Thanks y'all! Hannah

Been going to Les Gets for 12 years now.

Skiing tip - when it gets busy (example, half term) go ski the mont cheri side - some class runs and rarely busy.
Accom tip- Don't waste your time using the agencies, book direct with the central reservation site
Ski Hire tip- Fouchard. Opposite the casino and the irish bar. 60e for an adult and 50e for a kid. We wanted 8 days and he just gave us the extra. My kids both got brand new skis this trip so equipment good too, though actually never hired adult gear. Good for things like (non ski) boots, gloves, hats, etc and other nick nacks you forgot. Only drawback is that the lovely old couple that run it speak little english but a bit of pidgeon french and sign language sorts that out.

If you have a car and doing the chavane side. Park your car at the top of the red bubble to:

1. Avoid the bottle neck queues at the bottom
2. Use it as a "rucksack" to store jumpers, lunch, drinks, etc.

Don't really do bars - got small kids.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

The Irish bar, and the Canadian one above are both quality. In the Canadian bar (Black Bear), they serve 8 pint beer towers, good value and great fun. They have a pool table too. The Boomerang bar is a classic Aussie bar - serves Fosters unfortunately. Does have Sky Sports though, so a good place to watch the footy.

For food, there is a great pizza place (can't remember the name) on the main road through town, and opposite the Irish bar is a great kebab shop - perfect for lunch if you are sking back to town.
