Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Anyone know anything about this area (Le Corbier, La Toussuire, etc)? I'm looking for somewhere inexpensive for February half term next year and this looks OK.

, Skied Le Corbier and Toussuire last Xmas but one. Nice little resorts, much cheaper than the major French resorts. Skiing is a bit limited in each individual resort but each one has enough to keep you amused for a day. Links were closed when we were there as it was early season but I imagine when they're open that it's a good bet, we just puttered round by car as they're next door to each other.

I've skied La T for the last 7 years with the exception of this year. It was one of Frances first ski resorts and used to even have an airfield where wealthy parisians could fly down to take the mountains but other resorts invested and prospered in the 80 and 90's and La T until recently remained old fashioned and unchanged, its still nicely French and I hope this does'nt change. However things are changing albeit slowly with new lifts and new links in the Les Sybelles area making it all truly lift linked. I like it and my children do to. Personally I'd stay in La Toussuire as its the largest. It really works for familys like many other purpose built resorts which make it easy to ski in and out and plenty of the accomodation is located either on or close to the slopes. The skiing is mostly intermediate but with off piste that is underused. If your travelling by car there are several other resorts within 45/60 mins drive that are also small and even less commercialised plus you can reach Orelle in about 40 mins and from there you can ski in Val Thorens/ 3 V's. Most of the staff go there on there one day off to avoid bumping into us billys. If you do decide to go and would like lessons for you or your children I cannot recommend highly enough Nadine Bonnell at the ESF - you will need to book her as she is really good, speaks English well and immensly popular. For hotels try Les Airelles or best is the sister hotel Les Soldenelles (speak to Freddy the owners son as he speaks the best English). Nightlife is a little limited, with only three or four proper bars and a bowling alley that opened this year (heard its good though) and one nightclub.
