Do the yanks use a different frequency for transceivers?
Need to find the booklet but I remember something about the frequency being banned in North America for my European transceiver...

GordonFreeman, If you mean an avalanche transceiver - the answer is the beacon frequency is the same - but if you have a Mammut Pulse - I think believe the frequency which vital signs info is transmitted on is different in North America than Europe.

GordonFreeman, what do you mean by 'transceiver'? If you mean avalanche transceiver, then I think the frequency is the same globally.

Yes, it's a Mammut Pulse. The vital signs would probably be irrelevant in a rescue situation anyway as the rescue guys don't necessarily have Mammut's anyway.

stoatsbrother, I'm sure they do. Put there is the ethical problem of going the body with vital signs, when others not showing such signs may not be wearing Pulse transceivers. Of course there is the argument that, by going for the body with vital signs, you are going for a known potential survivor.

All avalanche transceivers in the last 10+ years operate on 457khz. I believe once upon a time in Nth America certain models used to use a lower frequency but that was gotten rid of long ago.
