Driving to the Alps next week and will be taking a roofbox for the first time. I now use a Sanef doofer for going through the tolls on the peage. With the roofbox the height of my car is 2.1m - is there a height limit on the Sanef lanes?

only the ones with a height limit, the ones without a height limit have, erm no height limit. Generally those on the far right of the peage used by HGVs etc.
2.1m will be a bit close for the other lanes.

rob@rar, it says that it is 2m, but our X-trail plus roofbox is also about 2,1m and fits under the barriers. However, there are many more marked lanes for the doofer now, and not all of them have a height barrier. If you're in doubt, and it's not busy just use one of those.

rob@rar, We have always used 2m lanes with Freelander and roofbox think it measured 2.3m. We even managed to get into your underground car park with roofbox on

Most if not all of the express 'telebadge only' lanes on the far left are limited in height (2m) but only by those dangling metal/plastic things which will slide over the roof box with minimal effort. Once through them I've never seen anything more rigid to block you. Tried it a few times in my own 4x4 with roofbox and not had any problems. Obviously you don't want to attack them too quickly though, unless your passengers need waking up...
Worst case scenario, you put the hazards on and reverse back out like a proper tourist

yes, that is what is says, but it doesn't mean that you should charge through a 2m height barrier with a couple of bikes on the roof, it just means that you pay the same as a car without bikes (which is what yours would be, following aforementioned charge through the height barrier........)
