patrick318, I've been trying to book bristol to venice for jan, but it shows nothing exists yet. Annoying as I'm sure when I had a quick look a month or more back both flights and prices were shown as being available. Emailing customer service got me 3 meaningless replies.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

nickH, I saw that a while back and can only imagine they've pulled that flight to cut costs - Gatwick-Venice for example is still available. Pat

patrick318, thats what I assumed, but when I asked they merely replied that the timetable wasn't out yet - suspiciously late methinks. I much prefer to fly ex bristol, but daren't hang on too long as other carriers are filling fast

patrick318, JasonW, having emailed easyjet 3 times & got non-commital replies I finally bit the bullet & rang ( at 10p a min ) to be told that the bristol - venice flights will not be running this winter. A real bummer as I want to get to the dolomites & the next best option of innsbruck is already expensive.
Have checked with skyscanner, no cheap alternatives so looking as though it might have to be gatwick - yuch
might do a seperate post about the cancellation of the route

nickH, In May i booked Bristol to Venice return for March 2010 on Easyjet. On seeing your post i checked my booking through the Easyjet website and found that my flights had been cancelled although I had recieved no notification from Easyjet to that effect. I have now managed to contact Easyjet and re-booked Gatwick to Venice. If you read the Easyjet conditions of contract they do not appear to be under any obligation to inform you of cancelled flights until about two weeks before the flights. If anybody has a Easyjet booking i suggest they check their booking every two weeks to make sure it has not been cancelled.

riverman, thats a really dirty trick - why can't they inform people of the cancellation at the time that they make it ? surely it couldn't be that difficult. Mind you having had the run around I have, it seems the left doesn't know what the right.....etc
I'm looking at gatwick as an alternative , but as you know it's not a quick or cheap alternative for us west-country folk.

easyJet has long been my favourite airline - but I am becoming reluctant to book with them.

Easjyet says passengers flying in and out of Luton "will be advised" if their flights are affected. |
I think I may book with Swiss for my next Switzerland trip - I have already booked with bmibaby for another..

nickH, Well other than flying Ryan Air to Treviso which due to luggage restrictions i reject the only airports you can fly to Venice from in the South of England is Gatwick, even BA only fly from Gatwick not Heathrow. From Bristol you could consider East Midlands which have flights by Eashjet and Flybi

East Midlands easyJet departures not certain after end of year

Passengers travelling to and from East Midlands beyond the end of this year would be informed well in advance if and how their travel might be affected. |

just had an email to cancel the B'ham to Geneva flight on 12 January, a flight I had booked on behalf of my brother in law. It's not too big a hassle for him, as he's travelling on his own, he's retired, he's staying with usand I'll be driving him to the airport. that's a Tuesday and he will either need to switch airports back or fly on Monday or Wednesday as there was only one flight a day. He might just have to make a difficult decision about missing either a day's skiing or a bowls match. But for someone who'd rented accommodation and cars etc......
I don't think he'd decided whether to leave a car at Birmingham - and although we can transfer the Wednesday flight to another one, not sure whether they'd charge for moving the outward flight too, if he decided on another airport. It would have been East Midlands but.....
