apologies to David at traxvax for not booking with you , but we managed to get a place with ski olympic for a price that was a bit easier on the wallet - essential given that this (trip number 3) is a "cheapie"!
anyway, we'll be in "chalet oliver" with ski olympic next week. anyone else going to be in town?

nbt, there are some snowheads staying with us that week, I'm trying to wangle a trip for myself, so might see you there.

nbt, you might well have timed it just right. Anyone arriving this weekend is going to find it hard seeing where they are going, at least until Tuesday.... A fair amount of snow is forecast over the next four days, and after a brief respite the seven day forecast has another dump forecast for next Thursday...
But to borrow one of the many skanky caveats ... "it could all change though"

Looks like the snow will ease off after Tuesday (might be a few smatterings), and it will be cold again. Could be snowing again the following weekend - but that'll probably change

Just got back this afternoon and nbt is going to have a very snowy time in La Rosiere.
Arrived Sunday in snow, did not really stop snowing until Tuesday then it was very cold and clear until Saturday, when the snow started all over again. Left La Ros this morning at sparrow's fart in heavy snow, which was present all the way to Lyon's delightful airport  . Transfer was 3.5 hours.
I will post a fuller report when I have had some sleep, however it was a really great week.
I have just posted a couple of photos in the snow media zone taken early last week - shed loads!!

nbt isn;t going to have a very snowy time in La Rosiere, mrs NBT is poorly sick so NBT is going to be gnashing his teeth and wailing in Stockport:(

nbt, Sorry to here your news, I too hope Mrs nbt recovers and you get a chance to try La Ros this season.

Fingers crossed. Have phioned the insurance company to start off the claims proceedings, just need to hope we get the cash quick enough to let us go again
if not, I'll have to have a mountain-biking holiday instead, although it won't be as much fun

nbt, ditto ref. Mrs NBT, and hope the insurers don't throw a spanner in the works. I've wondered before how effective holiday cancellation insurance is.
Take a look at the offer under Chalets for a week in the studio, fully incl of 'chauffeur' to different resorts. My excuse for making it so cheap is that I fancy spending all of March on the slopes, and if I get enough bookings I'll have no choice!

If you recall PG, we were hopeing to come out to see you last year but Mrs NBt fell ill then, too! We seem to be destined not to reach the lower end of the tarentaise (although we maaged to pass through it on the way to Val d'Isere in january!)
We're going to give it a few weeks to make sure we get the money, and to see how Mrs NBT recovers. hopefully we'll be able to get out mid-march, avoiding the easter queues
