Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski Hire Mayrhofen

Can anyone recommend a good ski hire shop. We have our own boots and we prefer to shop around a bit for good skis rather than go down the tour operator route. We are all intermediates and fairly agressive skiers so can anyone recommend a particular brand/model (on-piste)?

Can't comment on Mayrhofen, but last month in Austria we found Intersport had a good range and were more than happy to change our skis throughout the week, at ANY of their shops. Intersport have shops throughout Austria, including, I believe, in Mayrhofen.

I personally had Salomon Equip 10 3V's and Atomic SL11's, both of which were in top notch condition and would seem to match your requirements (speed!) - personally I got on better with the Salomon's as they were more forgiving!! Check out Snow+Rock who sell both models and have reviews of each. Both of these skis fall into Intersport's Premium range, which cost us approx. £80 each for the week. We found the staff helpful, knowledgable and willing to discuss our needs - one look at our boots & they knew what kind of ski we would be looking for (we all have our own boots too). Take advantage of hiring yo try out a few different skis and find what suits you best.

Hope that helps.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thanks TC, I was going to check out Intersport if all else fails. I'll have a look at the Salomons.

Was there recently and was recommended Hervis and Uli Speiss at the base of the Penken gondola as ones to try next time as I was not totally happy with tour operators chosen supplier.
