Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski hire being charged online and again by store. what can i do

 Poster: A snowHead

Hi all,
I have made a ski rental booking through http://ski-hire.sport2000.fr/ This was for skis and Boots to start on the 10th of Jan.
I decided to call the ski rental shop ( Sport Steger in Saalbach Austria ) to make sure that they had recived the booking. I was told that they
had but it was for skis only and I will have to pay an extra 44 Euros for the boots when i arrive. I have the booking refrence from the sport 2000 web site but all this shows is that I have orderd the Red pack, and the amount paid. I have emaild sport 2000 about this but they have failed to get back to me. I have also called them, but nobody speaks English.
I have also taken screen shots from the web site, this shows the store to collect the skis from and the price of hire with and without boots. the amount with boots matches what I have on my printed booking refrence. I have printed off the web site screen shots to show them when i arrive.
What are my consumer rights in this situation, and what else can I do to prevent being ripped off.

Thanks

Nick

nickyjay, First of all welcome to snowHeads.

I think the first thing I would say to you is that I would be very surprised if anyone is setting out to rip you off. There is more likely to be a communication failure somewhere that can quickly be sorted out.

Have you really used a French website to book a ski-pack in Austria? If you have, that might be one source of the confusion. The Sport Steger shop in Saalbach is a magnificent place (as is Saalbach itself BTW, if you have not been before) with a good reputation, and I think you have done the right thing by printing everything off. I think you will quickly sort out the problem when you get there. Have a great holiday. Conditions look good.

Hi Chris

Suprisingly when you do a search in google.co.uk for (Ski Hire Saalbach) its the first hit you get. also it gives the best prices, even over the sport 2000
website for Austria I am sure you are right that is is a communication issue But it is frustrating when you are unable to comunicate with them. But good piste conditions will make up for it LOL
