Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Experience or thoughts on Fischer Watea 78 + Fischer X11 binding

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi, I'm interested in these skis based on reviews but wondered if any snowheads had experience or views on these. I ski on piste nearly all the while but do like to cut between pistes, so I suppose this is semi off piste.

FYI, I'm 6ft but only weigh 75Kg and was looking at the 174cm length.

Thanks

All I can say is , having tried them I loved them then read that they are not so good for heavy skiers ( that'll be me then ) so now I am saving up for the watea84 which come with the fx12 bindings ( I think slightly better ??) . Lovely light and easy to control , although have only tried on gentle indoor slope. Also only £425 in blues about £70 cheaper than anywhere else I've seen them , 78s are £345 Confused

I tried the ladies version; Fischer Koa 78, on demo at Tamworth Snowdome and absolutely loved them, but way over my budget.

pokemon, I tried the Watea 84 at 17? at MK I got the feeling I needed to be taller and heavier to get the best from it. I'm neither currently. Easy to push into shorter turns, felt good and stable. I imagine the 78 is much the same.

bfg, snowbunny, thanks. Sounds like I'm looking at a good ski but probably should demo anyway.

A fantastic set of skis, truly 'polyvalent'. They can take anything you throw at them from onpiste drills to offpiste crud. Would have been my purchase last winter if the brown and black tribal graphics didn't look so uninspiring. Some interesting shovel/tip developments in this season's models.
