Work has started on dismantling the Meleze lift ready to re-install it in Plagne 1800. Earthworks have commenced to construct the new Bergerie 6 seater lift from Plagne centre. Roughly this lift will start where Meleze was and then head across to finish between the top of the Colusses lift and the Bergerie restaurant,

Also in the news on www.perso-laplagne.fr is information on the Mont de la Guerre piste.
Mont de la Guerre is a lovely red that consists of powder fields connected by mogul fields and then dives down through the forest to end up at the Champagny bubble.
However the piste is often closed as the snow melts rapidly in the sunshine.
The plan is to re-profile the piste from the top down to the forest. The reason it is closed so often and for long periods is that the ground is so uneven with bumps and channels that don't allow the grooming machines to compact the snow to produce an enduring piste surface. This summer the troublesome sections will, at a cost of 200k be smoothed out. As a result, hopefully, the run will be open more often this coming winter.
The lower section through the forest into Champagny village will also see some maintenance work into the future but currently only 90% of the landowners have given permission and negociations are on going.
